On July 3, the first composite wing flying car Govy AirJet independently developed by GAC Govy successfully completed its maiden flight, marking a major breakthrough in Guangdong's low-altitude economy and officially entering the "urban three-dimensional transportation era", demonstrating GAC Govy's outstanding strength in the research and development of flying car technology.
The Low-Altitude Economy Is Booming, And The Demand For Flying Cars Is Surging
With the acceleration of urbanization, traffic congestion has become a severe challenge facing major cities. As one of the most economically active regions in my country, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has frequent personnel exchanges between cities, and there is an urgent need for efficient travel methods. At the same time, the country's policy support for the low-altitude economy has been continuously increased, encouraging the development of low-altitude transportation, and creating a good policy environment for the development of flying cars. Against this background, GAC GOVY has actively deployed in the field of low-altitude travel and is committed to developing flying cars with independent intellectual property rights to meet the market's demand for efficient and convenient transportation.
Integrating Innovative Technology, Govy AirJet Shows Excellent Performance
Govy AirJet is GAC Govy's first composite wing flying car, integrating a number of advanced technologies and having outstanding performance. Govy AirJet adopts an 8-axis 8-propeller and double-ducted composite wing configuration, combining the efficient cruising capability of fixed wings and the vertical take-off and landing flexibility of multi-rotors. It can achieve rapid take-off and landing without a runway, adapting to the complex take-off and landing environment of the city.
In terms of power system, Govy AirJet is equipped with a high-performance electric drive system independently developed by GAC, with a maximum flight speed of 250km/h and a cruising range of 200km, which can easily meet the needs of medium and short-distance travel between cities in the Greater Bay Area. At the same time, Govy AirJet supports 25 minutes of rapid energy replenishment, which greatly improves the convenience of use.
In terms of safety, Govy AirJet adopts a lightweight design that is higher than aviation-grade safety standards. More than 90% of the components of the whole machine are made of carbon fiber aviation composite materials, which not only reduces the weight of the fuselage, but also improves the structural strength. The battery system is equipped with multiple protection mechanisms to monitor the battery status in real time to ensure flight safety. In addition, Govy AirJet is also equipped with advanced intelligent perception, obstacle avoidance and decision-making systems, which can accurately identify the flight environment, automatically plan a safe flight path, and effectively avoid collision accidents.
In terms of cabin design, Govy AirJet adopts a flexible "1+1+X" layout, which can adjust the number of seats according to passenger needs and can carry up to 4 people. The cabin is equipped with a "smart function integrated floating island" and a "pixel galaxy" starry sky ceiling, creating a comfortable and luxurious riding experience, which can be called an "air electric business class".
Build a low-altitude travel network and lead the future travel revolution
Govy AirJet's successful maiden flight is an important step for GAC High-Tech in the field of low-altitude travel. In the future, GAC High-Tech plans to build multiple take-off and landing sites in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to build a low-altitude travel network and achieve rapid connections between cities. It is expected that after operation, the travel price of Govy AirJet will be about twice that of a taxi, allowing passengers to enjoy efficient and fast flight services at a relatively reasonable price.
According to the plan, by 2027, GAC High-Tech will launch demonstration operation plans in 2-3 cities in the Greater Bay Area, and gradually improve the operation model and service system. With the continuous maturity of technology and the reduction of costs, Govy AirJet is expected to become an important means of transportation for inter-city commuting in the Greater Bay Area, shortening the original 1-2 hours of ground commuting time to less than 40 minutes, and truly realizing the "40-minute living circle of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area".
In addition, GAC High-tech will also build a Robo-AirTaxi end-to-end low-altitude three-dimensional travel system, which will be seamlessly connected with ground transportation and provide users with a one-stop travel solution. At the same time, GAC High-tech will actively explore the application of flying cars in cultural tourism, emergency rescue, logistics and distribution, and promote the diversified development of the low-altitude economy.
The successful maiden flight of Govy AirJet has brought new possibilities for transportation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Driven by policy support, technological innovation and market demand, flying cars are expected to become an important part of future urban transportation, inject new vitality into the economic development of the Greater Bay Area, and lead a new era of low-altitude travel.
