Engine SaM146 designed and produced by PowerJet (joint venture of NPO Saturn and Snecma (Safran group) for Russian regional jet Sukhoi Superjet 100 obtained Interstate Aviation Comittee Aviation Register (IAC AR) type certificate.
NPO Saturn CEO Ilya Fedorov underlined the importance of the IAC AR type certificate for serial engines delivery plan fulfillment, which is possible only after the receipt of type certificate and serial procedures approval.
Earlier this year (June 23, 2010) engine SaM146 obtained type certificate of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Certification of SaM146 according to European and Russian requirements of airworthiness allows the installation of the engine to the aircrafts operating in Russia, European Union and CIS.
