PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Flexcompute, Inc.
Flexcompute, the leader in GPU-native high-performance simulation, today announced that Elysian Aircraft has selected its flagship solver, Flow360, as the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) platform for developing the company's battery-electric E9X aircraft. Designed to carry 90 passengers for 800+ kms, the E9X represents a breakthrough in zero-emission air travel.
Elysian's selection of Flow360 reflects a rigorous evaluation process and marks an important market validation for Flexcompute, expanding the company's portfolio in sustainable aviation. By leveraging Flow360's unmatched performance, scalability and support, Elysian will accelerate aerodynamic development cycles while avoiding the high upfront costs of on-premises hardware.
"We are building the world's first 90-seat, battery-electric aircraft. To do that, we need tools and partners who match our pace and standards for rigor. Flexcompute's Flow360 gives us high-fidelity answers in minutes, allowing our designers to stay focused on the design challenge at hand," said Amar Bansal, Head of Flight Physics, Elysian Aircraft. "Its performance, scalability, cost and support, plus access to the latest-gen hardware without huge upfront investment, made Flow360 the clear choice for Elysian as we push the boundaries of battery-electric aviation."
With Flow360 running on modern GPUs, simulation runtimes that traditionally took hours or days are now reduced to minutes. This performance uplift is critical throughout the design cycle, enabling rapid, high-fidelity insight into aerodynamic performance and informing real-time design decisions.
"Elysian is taking on one of the most ambitious challenges in sustainable aviation—large-scale battery-electric passenger flight," said Vera Yang, President of Flexcompute. "Their selection of Flow360 underscores our shared belief that the future of air travel will be faster, quieter and cleaner. We're excited to support their journey with the speed, fidelity and agility needed to bring the E9X to market."
As the aerospace industry pushes toward cleaner, more efficient and sustainable flight, Elysian's use of Flow360 demonstrates a shift in simulation-driven design, one where speed, fidelity and flexibility are no longer tradeoffs.
