Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has entered into a strategic partnership with Platforms and Systems, a subsidiary of EDGE Group, a defense consortium established by the UAE government through the integration of 25 state-owned and private defense companies.

The signing ceremony took place at the Dubai Airshow on the 18th. Key executives from both companies attended, including KAI CEO Cha Jae-byung, Kim Jae-hong, Head of the Middle East/Africa Office, EDGE President Hamad Al Marar, and EDGE Platforms and Systems President Khaled AI Zaabi.

This comprehensive agreement aims to explore collaboration opportunities across future strategic projects based on the two companies' respective technologies and expertise, and to create synergy in various areas, including joint marketing and expanded product collaboration targeting the global market.

With this agreement, KAI plans to further strengthen its export competitiveness in the Middle East market by establishing mutual technological cooperation and joint research and production plans with the Platforms & Systems Cluster, an organization within the EDGE Group that develops and produces core systems related to air, land, and sea platforms.

Established by the UAE government, the EDGE Group is a leading state-owned defense company specializing in advanced defense and security. It develops and provides solutions focused on future technologies, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), guided weapons, cyber and electronic warfare (EW), and maritime and land systems. Currently, with over 35 subsidiaries, annual revenue of $5 billion, and 17,000 employees, it is considered one of the fastest-growing defense technology companies in the Middle East. It is also expanding its global partnerships and strengthening its influence in the international market.

KAI will review the potential for mutual cooperation between the Platforms & Systems cluster, which oversees the EDGE Group's key products and brands, including armed aerial drones, unmanned helicopters, aerostructures, and armored vehicles, and the Platforms & Systems cluster, which oversees the EDGE Group's key products and brands, in various areas, including fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles, manned-unmanned composite systems, and MRO. Based on this, the two companies will jointly explore future cooperation plans.

KAI CEO Cha Jae-byung stated, "This agreement is significant in that it combines the capabilities of our two countries' aerospace industries to create new growth opportunities. We will continue to expand the scope of our cooperation to further connect the technological and industrial ecosystems between our two companies and produce tangible results in the future aerospace sector."
