Dassault draws on supplier experience for key 10X systems

STELIA Aerospace, Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse and Héroux-Devtek are all valued suppliers to Dassault Aviation, so the airframer has had no hesitation bringing them onboard their latest new program.

Following the launch of its latest flagship Falcon - the 10X - Dassault Aviation has been releasing details of some of the suppliers to the new program, including STELIA Aerospace, Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse and Héroux-Devtek.

Héroux-Devtek will design, develop and manufacture the landing gear system, and provide spare parts and aftermarket services for the life duration of the program.

"This contract reaffirms our trust in Héroux-Devtek. Our Falcons have the reputation to be able to operate from very challenging fields. The Falcon 10X will live up to that reputation. That is one of the reasons why the landing gear is, for us, an equipment of particular importance," says Eric Trappier, Chairman & CEO of Dassault Aviation.

STELIA Aerospace will focus on two projects: Sub-assemblies for the centre fuselage, and pilot seats.

It will develop and provide four aerostructure sub-assemblies for the aircraft's central fuselage section (lower shell, aft fuel tank, upper fuselage section and emergency exit door). These sub-assemblies will be developed by STELIA Aerospace's teams following new innovative processes, based on total digital continuity, from design to mass production. It will also develop and manufacture new generation pilot and co-pilot seats, aimed at improving the comfort and rest of the pilots.

Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS (France), Liebherr’s centre of excellence for air management systems, is responsible for the Falcon 10X’s integrated air management system. This major work package covers the bleed, air conditioning, cabin pressure control, air preparation, overheat detection, and wing anti-ice protection systems. Building on the architecture of the Dassault Falcon 6X air management system also provided by Liebherr, this new package provides a combination of robust and proven equipment, along with new Liebherr component technology developments. One example is the introduction of smart valves developed by Liebherr, which offer increased digital control, opening the door to system control optimisation and increased product health management.

The Liebherr-Aerospace team in Lindenberg has been commissioned by Héroux-Devtek to supply landing gear actuation and steering components for the aircraft.
