Aspen Avionics’ NexNav Mini GPS-SBAS Receiver Circuit Card Assembly has been integrated into the Vehicle Navigation Computer of Joby Aviation’s eVTOL aircraft.
The NexNav Mini is FAA TSO-C204 Class Beta 1 authorised, providing high-integrity position, velocity and precise time data to the navigation computer. These functions are central to autonomous navigation and advanced safety capabilities in future eVTOL operations.
Dan O'Donnell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Advanced Avionics, AIRO, and leader of Aspen Avionics, says: “We’re thrilled to partner with Joby Aviation, a company that is leading the way in transforming air mobility. Supplying our NexNav Mini for the Joby eVTOL marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enabling the next generation of electric aviation. This partnership highlights our shared vision for a safer, smarter and more sustainable future in the skies.”
Aspen notes that the NexNav Mini has been used reliably in both general and business aviation. Its adoption into Joby’s platform marks an advance in bringing certified avionics into urban air mobility applications.
