Kopin has received a $3.6 million purchase order for an advanced avionic helmet-mounted display system that will be integrated into a rotary-wing military aircraft platform for a European defence customer.
The system will serve as a core element of the aircraft’s pilot interface, projecting flight symbology, navigation cues, aircraft status and weapon system information directly into the pilot’s line of sight.
By presenting mission critical data on a high brightness display, the system is intended to enhance situational awareness while reducing cockpit workload during demanding operations.
Deliveries under the multi-year award will run for five years beginning in 2026 to support the platform’s production and sustainment requirements.
The order adds to Kopin’s growing helmet-mounted display portfolio. The company says its order book for pilot HMD applications now exceeds $10 million.
“Kopin’s display technologies continue to play a vital role in next-generation aviation systems,” says Iwan Dodd, SVP of Business Development at Kopin. “Our commitment to delivering rugged, high-performance solutions ensures pilots have the information they need, precisely when and where they need it.”
