ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) systems encompass the avionics hardware and software that determine and broadcast an aircraft's GPS-derived position, identity, altitude and velocity via 1090ES (1090 MHz Extended Squitter) or UAT (Universal Access Transceiver) datalinks, including DO-260B- and DO-282B-compliant transponder units, antennas, receiver modules, and the signal processing electronics supporting both ADS-B Out transmission and ADS-B In traffic situational awareness.
