Aircraft floats are buoyancy structures fitted to fixed-wing aircraft to enable water-borne operations, encompassing pontoon and amphibious float configurations fabricated from aluminium alloy, fibre-reinforced polymer composites, or carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) using wet lay-up, resin transfer moulding (RTM), or sheet-metal forming processes, with integral watertight compartmentalisation, step geometries for hydrodynamic performance, and attachment fittings interfacing with the airframe structure.
