Bolts for aerospace applications are externally threaded fasteners designed to pass through clearance holes and secure components in conjunction with a mating nut or tapped feature, encompassing hex-head, countersunk, shoulder, and protruding-head configurations manufactured from titanium alloys, corrosion-resistant steel (CRES), Inconel, and aluminium alloys to AMS, ASTM, and MIL-SPEC standards, with controlled thread forms (UNJ, MJ) and surface treatments such as cadmium plating, anodising, or dry-film lubricant applied to meet fatigue, shear, and tensile requirements in airframe, engine, and structural assemblies.
