Borescopes are optical inspection instruments used to examine internal features of aerospace components — such as turbine blades, combustion chambers, engine casings, and airframe structures — without disassembly, encompassing rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible fibre-optic variants as well as video borescopes employing CCD or CMOS sensors, with capabilities including articulation, illumination via LED light guides, and digital image capture for NDT and MRO applications.
