Computer-aided engineering (CAE) encompasses the use of finite element analysis (FEA), structural simulation, thermal analysis, and multi-physics solvers to validate and optimise aerospace component and system designs prior to manufacture, alongside surface modelling, virtual prototyping, and digital mock-up (DMU) techniques that support design-for-manufacture and airworthiness substantiation workflows.
