Electromechanical actuators (EMAs) convert electrical power directly into mechanical motion through the integration of electric motors — typically brushless DC (BLDC) or permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) — with ballscrew, roller-screw, or gearbox drive trains, and encompass associated position-sensing technologies such as resolvers and LVDTs, power electronics, and fault-tolerant winding architectures used across flight-control, landing-gear, and thrust-reverser applications.
