Evaporators in aerospace mechanical hardware are heat-exchanger assemblies that facilitate refrigerant-side phase-change cooling within Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and vapour-cycle cooling equipment, transferring thermal energy from air or fluid streams into a circulating refrigerant through brazed or diffusion-bonded aluminium core constructions, with designs validated to DO-160 environmental standards and applicable FAR/CS airworthiness requirements.
