Needle bearings are rolling-element bearings that use long, thin cylindrical rollers with a high length-to-diameter ratio to transmit radial loads within a minimal radial envelope, and are manufactured from through-hardened or case-hardened bearing steels to ABEC or ISO tolerance classes, with drawn-cup, caged, or full-complement configurations used across flight-control linkages, gearboxes, and actuator mechanisms.
