Recess fasteners are threaded or unthreaded aerospace fasteners defined by a recessed drive geometry — such as hexagonal socket (Allen), Torx, Phillips, Pozidriv, or spline drives — machined into the head to accept a mating key or bit, enabling high torque application in confined or flush-critical installations using titanium, corrosion-resistant steel (CRES), or aluminium alloys to AS/NAS dimensional standards.
