Wing nuts are threaded fasteners incorporating two flat, diametrically opposed projecting wings that permit manual tightening and removal without tools, manufactured from aluminium alloy, titanium, or corrosion-resistant steel (CRES) to aerospace material specifications such as AMS standards, and used in applications requiring frequent access, panel attachment, or temporary securing within airframe and mechanical assemblies.
