HayesX, a Las Vegas-based personal aviation company developing personal electric aircraft, today announced that the HayesX-250 will make its public debut at the 2026 SEMA Show, taking place Nov. 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. HayesX is bringing a new category of personal electric aviation into the automotive aftermarket. Attendees can experience the aircraft and meet the HayesX team in Central Hall. HayesX will also host a product unveiling and press conference presentation on Wednesday, November 4, from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. at its booth.
As the United States commemorates its 250th anniversary, HayesX, with HayesX-250, is proud to be at the forefront of the next chapter of American personal aviation, one defined by electric propulsion, advanced engineering and the freedom of individual flight.
"SEMA celebrates the people and machines pushing mobility boundaries," said Ciaran Hayes, co-founder and CEO of HayesX. "The HayesX-250 brings that same spirit to personal aviation. We designed it to make personal flying more accessible, exhilarating and practical to own, while keeping the pilot at the centre of the experience."
The HayesX-250 is a single-seat electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft designed to bring personal flight within reach of more people. Its vertical-flight capability eliminates the need for a runway, while four folding arms reduce the aircraft to approximately 4.25 feet by 9.1 feet for transport in a suitably sized pickup or trailer.
Weighing 245 pounds including batteries, HayesX-250 has a published top speed of 62 mph. Its construction combines an aviation grade aluminium chassis and carbon-fibre components, providing a lightweight yet robust platform for personal flight.
Safety is built around multiple layers of protection and redundancy. The HayesX-250 incorporates eight electric motors, dual power and control buses, dual inertial measurement units and an integrated whole-aircraft ballistic parachute system. The HayesX-250's technology-forward experience extends beyond the aircraft through the HayesX Pilot Support App, placing an interactive flight guide, digital logbook and pre-flight checklist at every owner's fingertips.
The HayesX-250 is designed to comply with FAA Part 103. In the United States, an FAA pilot certificate is not required to operate a vehicle that qualifies under Part 103. Operators remain responsible for complying with all applicable operating restrictions, airspace rules and local requirements.
Reservations for the HayesX-250 are now open at a listed price of $146,600. A $6,600 deposit secures an order and is refundable within six days. HayesX is currently accepting a limited number of orders for 2026 delivery, subject to availability and final configuration.
