Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and subsystems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets, has been chosen by Dassault to provide the wheels, brakes, brake control system, and tyre pressure monitoring system, for the Falcon 6X programme. The value of the contract runs for the lifetime of the programme.
Meggitt will also provide landing gear control computers which, in addition to providing brake control, will perform the control and monitoring for landing gear sequencing, nose wheel steering control, and the hydraulic system. Meggitt's unique system integration expertise brings an industry-first to the programme, integrating control of the landing gear and hydraulic systems with other aircraft subsystems.
The contract follows the parties' 2018 Letter of Intent and reflects a successful design review confirming the optimized system configuration. It marks the continuation of the longstanding relationship between Meggitt and Dassault on business jet aircraft.
Chief Executive, Tony Wood, said: "We are delighted to be partnering again with Dassault and to be bringing Meggitt innovation to this exciting new programme. This contract expands our relationship from our core, state-of-the-art braking systems business, into landing gear control, nose wheel steering control, and hydraulic system control. We value our long-standing relationship with Dassault and are proud to be extending our partnership through this new aircraft."
