Stavatti enters Strategic Cooperation Agreement to produce the SM-920 Commercial Airliner

On May 25th Stavatti entered into a Strategic Cooperation Agreement for the development and production of the SM-920 Commercial Airliner. This agreement pairs Stavatti with a prominent international strategic investment partner focused upon long term, cross-boarder investment and industrial integration in the fields of energy and technology.

This historic agreement will result in the development, prototyping, flight testing, FAA certification, production and sale of the SM-920 twin engine single aisle narrowbody commercial airliner. The Agreement includes the establishment of production centers, as well as maintenance and service centers in the United States and worldwide. The SM-920 will be prototyped and produced at a Stavatti facility in the continental United States as well as at a secondary production facility outside of North America.

The SM-920 is a revolutionary twin engine single aisle airliner that will set a new standard for comfort, performance, eloquence and style. The SM-920 will carry up to 204 passengers at speeds approaching supersonic with unmatched economy and low environmental impact.

The SM-920 benefits from M wings designed for transonic flight. Constructed from aluminum foam metal sandwich structures, initial production SM-920s will be powered by twin CFM International LEAP or Pratt & Whitney Geared turbofans. SM-920s produced after 2035 may feature new design, next generation Stavatti NeoThrust E750-AFT-360 Aft Fan Turbofan (AFT) engines for greater cruise efficiency and the lower noise levels.

With a maximum cruise speed of 0.95 Mach and a range of over 4,100 nm the SM-920 will offer lower operating costs than either the 737 Max or the A320neo. The SM-920 will carry 180 passengers in a two class first/economy arrangement or 204 passengers in an all economy configuration with 32 in seat pitch. Offering a wider cabin than either the 737 or A320, the SM-920 will feature four spacious lavatories and both a forward and aft galley. The SM-920 cabin will benefit from an advanced UV air cleansing and purification system.

A new dynamic in commercial aviation, Stavatti projects the delivery of over 10,000 SM-920 airliners during the first 20 production years beginning as early as 2031.
