The scope includes illuminated panels, custom keypads and optical engineering, with support provided throughout development and ramp-up.

Comtronic GmbH has been selected by Deutsche Aircraft to supply the complete overhead panel for the 40-seat D328eco regional turboprop. Based in Schönau, Germany, Comtronic is part of Mafelec Team and has provided aerospace human-machine interface solutions for nearly five decades. It is known for its illuminated panels, custom keypads and advanced optical technologies used in modern cockpits and mission-critical systems worldwide.

The overhead panel is a key element of the cockpit architecture, integrating essential systems with pilot-friendly ergonomics. Comtronic’s package includes illuminated panels and sub-panels with optimised day and night readability, custom control units and keypads, and optical and photometric engineering for uniformity, anti-glare and optional NVIS compatibility. It also includes full qualification documentation and technical assistance through development and industrial ramp-up.

“Winning the complete Overhead Panel contract for the D328eco is a great source of pride for our teams. Our expertise in high uniformity illuminated panels and custom control units perfectly meets Deutsche Aircraft’s expectations in terms of ergonomics, reliability and performance. Their mindset aligns closely with the values of Mafelec Team, making this partnership both natural and exciting,” says Gilles Heinrich, president of Mafelec Team, and Ludivine Danger, aerospace sales director at Comtronic.

“The Overhead Panel is a critical component of the cockpit architecture. Comtronic's proven capability in aerospace HMI and advanced panel technologies aligns perfectly with our design philosophy of delivering simplicity, robustness and operational efficiency. This collaboration ensures that the D328eco cockpit will set new standards for reliability and pilot-centric ergonomics,” adds Deutsche Aircraft CEO Nico Neumann.
