Airbus Helicopters H160

The French Armament General Directorate launched the development of the H160M in December 2021.

French forces' light helicopter features Iridium-based satcoms

Five types of helicopters serving in the French Army, Navy and Air Force will be replaced by a total of 169 H160M in batches starting in 2027. They will have SKYTRAC's SDL-700 Satcom system onboard.

Safran chalks up diverse involvement in the H160M

Designed, built and supported in France, Arrano engines will power the French armed forces' Leopard helicopter. Safran will also supply a range of other systems and components for the program.
