Evio inaugurates its Dorval office and accelerates its growth in Quebec
Wednesday, 17 June 2026

Evio today celebrated the official opening of its new Dorval office, which includes the company's engineering, operations, supply chain and corporate support functions. Supported by an investment from Boeing, the facility welcomes more than 35 employees who support the development of the Evio 810 program.

Located opposite Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), the new office places the company at the heart of one of the main aerospace hubs in North America, close to engineering talent, suppliers, customers and research capabilities that will be able to support the next stage of the development of the Evio 810 aircraft. Evio plans to employ more than 100 people in Quebec by the end of 2027, thus creating high value-added jobs and strengthening its links with Quebec's aerospace supply chain. In the longer term, the company expects its aircraft program to generate more than 10,000 jobs throughout the value chain.

"We are delighted to officially open our Dorval office and celebrate this important milestone in Evio's growth in Quebec," said Michael Derman, CEO of Evio. "Canada has a world-class aerospace ecosystem, and Montreal has been the cradle of some of the most important innovations in aviation. This legacy of engineering excellence makes the region a particularly challenging place to move the Evio 810 program forward. We are grateful for Boeing's investment and the support of our Canadian partners as we strengthen our presence in Quebec and work to market a new generation of regional electric hybrid aircraft."

Opening event

Evio highlighted the official opening of its office as part of an inaugural event hosted by Colonel Chris Hadfield, in the presence of Evio employees and guests, including representatives of Boeing, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Montréal Airports (ADM) and other ecosystem partners, as well as the Mayor of Dorval, Marc Doret.

"The arrival of Evio in Dorval reflects our common commitment to innovation, sustainability and the future of aerospace. With the support of Boeing, this new office positions Dorval at the forefront of the development of electric hybrid aircraft and contributes to the long-term economic growth of our region," said Marc Doret, Mayor of the City of Dorval. "Renowned for its exceptional quality of life, robust infrastructure and vibrant business environment, Dorval offers an ideal setting for businesses to grow and citizens to thrive. We are proud to welcome Evio and look forward to seeing the positive impact its growth will have for Dorval and the greater Montreal area."

A growth-supporting investment in Canada's RITs

The establishment of Evio's office in Dorval is supported in part by a Canadian $43 million investment by Boeing to support Evio's presence and growth in Quebec. This investment is part of the industrial and technological impact (RIT) related to CP8A Poseidon.

"Quebec has long been a cornerstone of Canada's aerospace excellence, and Boeing's Canadian $43 million RIT investment in Evio's office in Dorval, as part of CP8A Poseidon, marks a new chapter in our commitment to the province," said Al Meinzinger, President of Boeing Canada. "Over the past two years, Boeing has announced RIT investments of $300 million in the Poseidon CP8A with Quebec companies, which demonstrates our confidence in the province's talents and industrial capabilities. This investment supports Evio's engineering, research and development work in hybrid electric technologies, strengthens local supply chains and creates high value-added jobs. We are proud to support Evio and Quebec's dynamic aerospace ecosystem."
