Kestrel Aircraft selects Cox & Company for ice protection
Monday, 29 October 2012

Kestrel Aircraft Company announced today at the National Business Aviation Association 2012 Convention, that Cox and Company, of Plainsville, NY, has been chosen to supply the Ice Protection System for the Kestrel aircraft currently under development.

Kestrel Aircraft CEO and President, Alan Klapmeier, stated, "We are very pleased to add Cox, as one of Kestrel's development partners. We believe the Electro-Mechanical Expulsion Deicing System (EMEDS) is a perfect fit for our aircraft's mission profile".

Klapmeier added "EMEDS allows effective ice removal while retaining a laminar flow wing. This is critical factor for achieving high speed and reducing drag and fuel consumption. Also EMEDS has lower lifetime costs than other deicing systems. We are committed to our focus on operating cost for our future customers".

John Smith, President of Cox, is pleased to become a member of the Kestrel family, stating, "The Kestrel is a game changing entry into the general aviation market. The Cox EMEDS Ice Protection System is one of the many features that make this aircraft stand out. We look forward to working with Kestrel on this exciting new aircraft".

The EMEDS decision follows the Kestrel philosophy of searching for innovative solutions that will add utility and make life easier for owners. The talent and experience of the Kestrel team allows for exploration and successful implementation of new technology. So the choice of EMEDS for this product should come as no surprise.
