Avure Technologies, the leader in high pressure fluid cell press technology, has received an order from a Russian manufacturer of mid-size aircrafts for a 50,000 ton press-force FlexformTM sheet metal forming press. The agreement stipulates that the press will be delivered to the customer by mid 2014.
The order indicates that the Russian aerospace industry is determined to revitalize its domestic aircraft production, in line with growing airline interest worldwide in single-aisle aircraft. In this market segment, the recently introduced Russian Superjet 100 and the MS-21 are competing with, for example, the Airbus A320-NEO and the Boeing 737-MAX. These new aircraft designs seek to boost fuel efficiency, enhance safety, increase passenger comfort, and improve manufacturing efficiencies in the next generation of commercial airplanes.
“Demand for mid-sized aircraft has increased steadily in recent years,” observes Sture Olsson, Avure's Global Business Unit Director for Sheet Metal Forming. “Avure's advanced Flexform technology is well-suited for the development of more efficient production methods for these types of aircraft, reducing component costs, increasing product quality and improving the design flexibility.”
In addition to high-pressure Flexform equipment, Avure also offer in-depth tool design and process expertise to help customers realize the full value of the high-pressure sheet metal forming technology, which is essential to maximize process utilization.
Based in the company's manufacturing facilities in Västerås, Sweden, Avure engineers are at the forefront of further enhancing the intricate details of process specifications, materials, and tooling, providing complete solutions for individual application needs.
