Saint-Gobain Aerospace today announced it has signed a long-term contract with Bell Helicopter of Fort Worth, Texas, to supply nose radomes for the new Bell 525 RelentlessTM helicopter program.
The radomes will be manufactured with advanced Norton Armor™ materials from Saint-Gobain that provide superior radar transparency and in-flight durability. “Saint-Gobain's high-transparency radomes provide the clearest window for the weather radar for the Relentless, which provides the maximum range and the best weather image for the pilot during flights that are facing inclement weather,” said Dan Orwig, Sales Manager, Advanced Radome Solutions for Saint-Gobain Aerospace. “We are excited to provide our radome expertise to the advanced technology on the Bell Helicopter Relentless.”
Saint-Gobain Aerospace specializes in the design, manufacture, repair and certification of high-performance aerospace composites and radomes. The Norton Armor™ paint system reduces maintenance costs and extends service life and is available for new products and for repairs.
