PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Collins Aerospace, Avionics Division
Rockwell Collins today announced a series of enhancements to its award-winning Pro Line Fusion® avionics, including industry-leading capabilities designed to accommodate Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen®) and Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) programs.
The primary update to Pro Line Fusion is Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required (RNP AR) 0.3. This enhancement provides obstacle clearance and clearly defined flight paths in congested airspace and at terrain-challenged airports, significantly improving operational efficiency while reducing operating costs, noise, and emissions. RNP AR also provides better airport access in low-visibility conditions.
Other new enhancements to Pro Line Fusion include:
• Vertical Situation Display (VSD) that provides operators with a profile view of the aircraft relative to obstacles and terrain for greater situational awareness
• Automated speed selection and takeoff and landing calculation capabilities in the Flight Management System (FMS)
• Interactive electronic checklists, including user-defined lists that flight departments update at their own convenience
The new features will be first released to in production Pro Line Fusion-equipped Bombardier* Global 5000* and Global 6000* aircraft, followed by those already fielded. The update will also be available for other certified and in development Pro Line Fusion flight decks.
Pro Line Fusion entered into service in March 2012 on the Global 5000 and is featured on 16 platforms ranging from turboprops and light jets, to intercontinental business and regional aircraft, as well as military tanker platforms. The scalability of Pro Line Fusion is unmatched in the industry.
