The latest generation cabin primer FR4-45 manufactured by MAPAERO, the fast-growing manufacturer of aircraft coatings headquartered in Pamiers, France has been qualified by Boeing in the material specification BMS 10-83 Type IV.
This specification applies to Boeing's commercial airplanes at manufacturing stage and maintenance.
FR4-45 is a fast-drying, waterborne fire-retardant sprayable and sandable primer used to perfect the surface of cabin parts prior to applying a finish. Already qualified by Airbus and other OEMs, it has one of the lowest VOC on the market, at 50 g/L or 0.42 lb/gal (AS D3960), which can help users comply with the strictest VOC emissions caps.
