PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Safran Nacelles Le Havre
Safran Nacelles' introduction of digital processes throughout its Le Havre, France headquarters production facility is enabling the company to accommodate an unprecedented number of new manufacturing programs. Using the most advanced processes and technologies, numerous projects have been introduced at Le Havre - responding to customer demands for quality, competitiveness and on-time delivery speed while maintaining the world-leading performance of its products.
With this initiative, Safran Nacelles has made the factory of the future a reality today, benefitting from the committed engagement of its teams in transforming the engineering and production resources for nacelle and component programs for aircraft ranging from business jets to the largest widebody jetliners.
Six of the initiative's projects implemented at Le Havre were recognized today for their excellence at an event attended by Safran employees, company management, customer representatives and local officials from France's Upper Normandy region.
"The true digital transformation accomplished by our teams at Le Havre enables Safran Nacelles to meet the program challenges of today, and positions us very well for new business in the future," explained Safran Nacelles CEO Jean-Paul Alary. "We've gone beyond the experimentation, prototype and test phases: advantages of the initiative are seen everywhere, every day at Le Havre - from the conception phase to the shop floor."
He added the digital transformation at Le Havre is being applied as appropriate across Safran Nacelles' other manufacturing, production and integration facilities in France, the UK, Germany and Morocco.
Alary noted the initiative's success has been due in large part to the involvement of Safran Nacelles employees, with a significant emphasis on collective intelligence, the mobilization of workers at all levels, and a focus on workplace quality. "Our factory of the future relies more than ever on the men and women at Safran Nacelles, underscoring the importance of everyone's commitment," Alary said.
