Aveo Engineering and Brumby Aircraft Australia Pty.Ltd, partner for DataHUD and FliteControl cockpit integration
Saturday, 12 September 2009

AveoEngineering, the manufacturer of cutting edge LED aircraft lights and accessories, has begun the introduction of its DigitalFlightDeck touch-screen avionics suite into the general aviation market. Partnering again with the Australian manufacturer of the popular "Brumby" training and recreational plane, AveoEngineering is integrating the first two modules (the DataHUD and the AveoFliteControl) into present production aircraft. The canbus-compatible systems are the first of their kind to provide real-time critical flight information to pilots in OLED-touchscreen high-brightness displays.

The DataHUD module mounts on the Brumby glareshield to provide real time data of aircraft altitude, speed, heading/course, DME, VSI, and Waypoint to assist the pilot and flight instructor during takeoff and approach, simplifying the instrument scan.

AveoEngineering is a company linked to BAE Systems, one of the worlds largest defence companies, through their offset programme in Slovakia. John Rossall, Director Industrial Participation at BAE Systems said, "We are hugely proud of our links with Aveo Engineering, a company that continues to grow in a very difficult market and to create high value jobs in Slovakia. They produce world beating and genuinely innovative products for the aviation sector. Their core strength is their ability to control all the aspects of the engineering themselves through their parent company Strojkov Engineering. The seamless integration of concept, design and manufacture gives them an unbeatable technical advantage, couple that with a tight cost base and you have a company that more than holds its own against any other in this field."

The AveoFliteControl is the world's first biometric anti-theft power command module for aircraft, and also features a myriad of pilot-assisting information screens such as real-time aircraft weight and C.G., g-force recording, icing conditions warning and systems control/status, IAT, OAT, flight log, flight timers, remote tire pressure monitoring, electrical systems monitoring, on-screen metric-english units converter, and optional VHF touchscreen radio mode.

Aveo Engineering and Brumby Aircraft are committed to making flying safer, easier and more enjoyable. The DigitalFlightDeck avionics system will introduce pilots to the cockpit of the future, designed around safety and efficiency, not complexity. The Brumby is already equipped with the market leading AveoFlash LED lighting systems and the AveoRockRack aircraft LED-backlit rocker switch modules. Paul Goard, Managing Director Brumby Aircraft Australia said "We are very excited to have the Aveo equipment in our range of aircraft and their service has been outstanding We are pleased with the quality of components and look forward to future partnership with Aveo Australia."

AveoEngineering and its parent company, Strojkov Engineering, based in Slovakia, are certified offset partners of BAE Systems, plc. BAE Systems has been assisting AveoEngineering in the development of its technology and introduction to the aerospace industry through its offset program resources.
