SYSPRO, a provider of visionary ERP for the manufacturing pragmatist, has today announced that the company has won a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) contract from Blair-HSM, a Medford, NY-based manufacturer and supplier of hydraulic actuators, mechanical and landing gear assemblies as well as a variety of kits and parts for commercial and military aircraft. SYSPRO prevailed in a direct compete against Epicor via SYSPRO reseller Edgeware Computers of Marietta, Ga.

According to Robert Lehmann, Blair-HSM vice president, the choice of SYSPRO was based on the company's need for superior supply chain management, tighter inventory controls and a more agile approach to market demands. "SYSPRO will enable us to be more responsive to ever changing business requirements," says Lehmann.

Derek Jenkins, Edgeware president, adds, "Blair-HSM had been utilizing Epicor, but the software's inability to accurately cost jobs was adversely affecting the business. SYSPRO's superb costing capabilities were definitely a factor in Blair-HSM's selection."

SYSPRO software will be utilized by the two units comprising Blair-HSM, Blair Industries and HSM Machine Works. Blair Industries produces hydraulic actuators, mechanical assemblies, a wide variety of kits and complete landing gear assemblies. HSM produces structural landing gear components and airframe machined parts as well as hydraulic components.
