Sabca and SOCAERO, a subsidiary of Daher specialized in the aeronautics sector, signed an agreement to transfer all the SOCAERO activity to Sabca Maroc. Sabca will assemble different components for Airbus, Dassault and Daher at its facility in Casablanca. All Socaero employees will join the Sabca family.
The transfer of work to Sabca in Casablanca fits within the strategy of Sabca to reinforce its position in the assembly of large aircraft components and structures. By creating a centre of excellence in Casablanca, the company can offer its different customers the most modern facilities and equipment and highly skilled employees at a very competitive price. Moreover, the consolidation of activities in one place also ensures the continuity of employment in the medium and long term.
“This agreement enables us to strengthen our collaboration and relationship with Daher. An assignment which we will carry out with the utmost care and efficiency,” says Thibauld Jongen, CEO of Sabca. “On the other hand, we are looking forward to contributing once more to the assembly of other iconic aircraft like the Airbus A320/A330, the Airbus Helicopter H125/130 and the Dassault business jet F7X/F8X. These activities will fit perfectly with our current production lines and future activities at our new plant that will be inaugurated in 2022.”
The Socaero employees will become part of the Sabca family, who already has 75 co-workers in Morocco and is recruiting another 100 to staff the new factory and production line for the assembly of components for other new customers. This growing footprint of Sabca in Morocco significantly increases the possibility for internal mobility and offers growth opportunities for every member of the team, not only in Morocco but also abroad, in Belgium.
The transfer of work is foreseen in 2022, when the new factory with 16.000m2 is ready and fully equipped to take on this important assignment.
