PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: McGinty Machine Company Inc.
McGinty Machine Company today announced that it has been selected by The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) to join its nationwide team to compete for the U.S. Air Force's new fleet of aerial refueling tankers.
As part of Boeing's United States Tanker Team, McGinty Machine Company will become eligible to increase orders if Boeing is awarded the U.S. Air Force tanker contract later this year. McGinty Machine Company manufacturing operations center currently makes precision machine parts and small to medium assemblies for several Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, and 787 commercial airplanes and 767 tanker and P-8 military platforms.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to support our nation's warfighter and compete for a new U.S. tanker aircraft," said Don McGinty, president, McGinty Machine Company. "We've been working with Boeing for over 50 years and are proud to continue our long-standing partnership. This additional business will go a long way, creating additional well-paying jobs for people in Wichita and the community, while supporting our 30-plus current workers and their families."
"The highly-skilled workers at the McGinty Machine Company will be a superb asset in helping build the next generation of aerial refueling tankers," said Rep. Todd Tiahrt (KS). "Our military men and women deserve the most advanced and survivable tanker available to successfully carry out their missions, and we have thousands of skilled engineers and workers here in Kansas ready to work on this critical project. Not only is the Boeing KC-767 the best choice for our warfighter and American taxpayers, but it will help stimulate high-quality subcontracting jobs in Kansas such as those at the McGinty Machine Company," added Tiahrt.
Boeing works with more than 460 companies in the state of Kansas, paying more than $3 billion for services and products. If Boeing is awarded the contract, it would support at least 50,000 new and existing jobs across the United States.
McGinty Machine Company is proud to help Boeing deliver an American-designed and -built, combat-ready tanker featuring maximum capability at the lowest cost.
