PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Cosmic Aerospace, Inc.
Cosmic reached a significant milestone in electric aviation with the latest engine testing at their development facility at Limburg Regional Airport, in Belgium. During the final 6 months of 2022, Cosmic designed, manufactured, and tested its first engine prototype, dubbed EP-1. Designed to power the zero-emission Skylark passenger aircraft, it is a full-scale electric jet engine. With the latest testing, the Cosmic team successfully demonstrated operations at full speed and power. These tests also reached static thrust levels that match modern combustion jet engines in the critical thrust-to-weight metric. This high performance, in combination with the electrical benefit of being 2.5 times more energy efficient, is a key enabler for Cosmic’s vision for sustainable aviation
