MAG titanium profilers begin production at Russian Boeing plant
Tuesday, 22 June 2010

Six five-axis gantry profilers from MAG Industrial Automation Systems have completed installation at Russia's Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM) plant and are ready to begin making landing gear components for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Boeing 777 and other aircraft. The six titanium profilers, part of a 34-machine order valued at more than $74 million, were installed in UBM's new Landing Gear Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Verkhnyaya Salda, Russia. The Russian team commemorated the event with this photo, recently sent to MAG's Hebron plant. UBM is a joint venture between Russian titanium producer VSMPO-Avisma and Boeing.

MAG, the world's largest U.S.-based machine tool company, is the global leader in metal cutting machine tools and automated composites equipment for the aerospace industry. Recent order activity at MAG reflects an active aerospace manufacturing market and the breadth of MAG's solutions for the industry, as major OEM's and newer aircraft makers alike add or improve manufacturing capacity. This year MAG has already received orders for more than $30 million from Russia, China and Europe for composites and metalworking systems.
