Radiant Technology has introduced a significant update to its Universal Multi-Function Instrument. The instrument now has eight functions on one screen and an improved dial representation. The unit is ideal as an ultra-lightweight, ultra-thin primary or backup instrument in experimental or ultralight aircraft and can be purchased in either a 2 ¼” or 3 1/8” panel cutout.
The following functions are included:
- Indicated Airspeed
- True Airspeed
- Digital Altitude
- Analog (Dial) Representation of Airspeed
- Analog (Dial) Representation of Altitude
- Digital VSI
- Settable Kollsman (current pressure)
- Outside Air Temperature
- System Voltage
- Density Altitude
Almost all these functions are included in one bright, high-contrast screen presentation.
Pushing a button presents a secondary ‘Altimeter Focus’ screen, which shows the current density altitude in a conventional dial format.
James Wiebe, CEO of Radiant, said: “This instrument brilliantly presents Indicated and True Airspeed, along with Altitude and VSI and Voltage and Outside Air Temperature in an easy-to-read and concise format. A second page of information contains an enhanced dial Altimeter and Density Altitude calculation. For $399.00, this is the least expensive way to pack eight instruments into a 2 ¼” or 3 1/8” standard panel cutout.”
The included air computer calculates True Airspeed based on pressure, altitude, and temperature. Computed Density Altitude is a bonus for safety consciousness. A harness for the external temperature is included. Furthermore, a one-time setup procedure allows customization of 100 or 200 Knots or MPH speed ranges and Fahrenheit vs. Celsius.
