PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC)
On April 2, 2025, AIDC officially inaugurated its new forging plant at its Gangshan complex in Kaohsiung, marking a significant milestone in achieving the capabilities required for hot forging and moving toward even more advanced and high-value isothermal forging processes.
Building upon Taiwan’s existing forging capabilities and AIDC’s experience in engine manufacturing, the Company has partnered with National Aerospace Fasteners Corporation, National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre to pursue industry-academia collaboration. By investing in key technologies and developing a variety of forging processes—ranging from general-purpose to advanced and high-end components—AIDC successfully completed technical R&D through resource integration and equipment coordination.
AIDC Chairman Hu Kai-hung stated that the establishment of the forging plant is the result of tireless efforts by the entire team and marks the beginning of AIDC’s entry into the global aerospace forging supply chain.
The inauguration of AIDC’s forging plant showcases the Company’s commitment to technological advancement, as it continues to build the essential capabilities for aerospace manufacturing. This will ensure that its defense, civil aviation, and engine business units remain steady and competitive in today’s challenging global landscape.
