PRESS RELEASE
Issued by: Aridge (Guangdong Huitian Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd)
In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, XPeng AeroHT, Asia's largest flying car company, was granted a manned aircraft special flight permit for its modular flying car "Land Aircraft Carrier", by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Ras Al Khaimah, officially starting its manned flight tests across the UAE. This marks the first such permit obtained by a Chinese flying car company overseas, symbolizing a critical milestone in the globalization of China's low-altitude electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technology.
At the ceremony, Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK Civil Aviation Department; His Excellency Eng. Esmaeel Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, and Mr. Omar bin Ghalib, Deputy Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority presented the permit to Mr. Zhao Deli, Founder of XPeng AeroHT. The event was also witnessed by Mr. Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE.
RAK Transport Authority and XPeng AeroHT signed a strategic agreement to collaborate on flight certification and scenario applications. Under the agreement, XPeng AeroHT will leverage the UAE's forward-looking policies and geographic advantages to explore the Land Aircraft Carrier's use in government transportation, tourism, emergency rescue, and other scenarios, aiming to create demonstration projects that enhance Ras Al Khaimah's global influence in future mobility.
"This cooperation cannot be achieved without the expertise of General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE and RAK Civil Aviation Department. We also highly appreciate the great support from the Ras Al Khaimah government, the Chinese Embassy and Chinese Consulate General in Dubai," stated Mr. Zhao Deli, "We believe an open, innovative environment in the UAE will provide an ideal platform for flying car technology validation."
H.E. Eng. Esmaeel Hasan AlBlooshi, Director General of RAKTA, said: “The success of this first demonstration represents a new achievement that enhances Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a hub for cutting-edge global innovations. Our collaboration with XPeng AeroHT reflects an innovative and strategic partnership with the Chinese side, aligned with Ras Al Khaimah’s vision to support pioneering projects based on technology and knowledge.”
At Jazirah Aviation Club in Ras Al Khaimah, the self-developed Land Aircraft Carrier, operated by the test pilot, demonstrated stable performance with maneuvers including hovering, 360-degree rotations, and coordinated turns. Before this flight, the Land Aircraft Carrier has already successfully passed on-site inspections by the GCAA of the UAE and the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Authority.
This test flight follows XPeng AeroHT's 2022 debut flight in Dubai with its Traveler X2 aircraft, showcasing its latest-generation of product. The UAE has actively promoted low-altitude economy policies to attract global participation in its Smart City initiatives. Taking this trend, XPeng AeroHT may prioritize the Middle East as its first overseas market.
In terms of technological breakthroughs, the Land Aircraft Carrier dispenses with traditional complex mechanical instrument panels, replacing them with a fully integrated smart display system that ushers in a more intuitive and simplified era of aviation. The aircraft supports both automatic and manual flight modes. In autonomous mode, it features intelligent route planning, auto-pilot navigation, one-touch takeoff/return, 3D composite vision, AI perception warnings, and landing visual aids.
Moreover, XPeng AeroHT has developed a world-leading aerial autopilot system, which grants pilots priority override capability via the joystick during autonomous flight. Whether manually or automatically operated, the intelligent flight control system continuously monitors and safeguards the aircraft's attitude, ensuring stable and safe flight within predefined parameters.
XPeng AeroHT, driven by innovation, aims to revolutionize personal mobility and flying experience with cutting-edge flying car technology. With strong support from the Chinese Embassy in the UAE, Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, the UAE authorities, and the Ras Al Khaimah government, XPeng AeroHT is dedicated to continuously contributing to the bilateral technological cooperation between the UAE and China.
