Deutsche Aircraft, a German aircraft OEM, has selected Heggemann for the industrialisation and development of the D328eco wing.
The wing design of the D328eco will be manufactured in an automatised manufacturing process. Heggemann will aim to do this by implementing its own version of the German Industry 4.0 concept, which will help quality assurance and a digitalised end to end process.
The manufactured wing and its sub-components will be fully SAF compatible with new sealants, surface protection measures and materials that fit with all sustainable aviation fuels.
Heggemann are an industrial production company with over 55 years experience. By implementing the APQP framework, a digital end to end process and product lifestyle tracking system, it can assist Deutsche Aircraft in its Industry 4.0 manufacturing principles.
"Combining the advantage of Dornier wing structure, forward-looking SAF compatibility and Heggemann's production expertise, this partnership will create great synergy for the D328eco programme," says Nico Neumann, Vice President of Operation and Programme at Deutsche Aircraft.
"We are very pleased to be an essential part of the development of the D328eco programme. Realising the wing in addition to the landing gear gives us the unique chance to further strengthen our partnership with Deutsche Aircraft," adds Dr. Christian Howe, CEO of Heggemann.
