Bombardier gains Transport Canada approval for Global 8000
Thursday, 13 November 2025
Bombardier’s Global 8000 has secured type certification from Transport Canada, with FAA and EASA validation to follow before the aircraft’s entry into service later this year.

Bombardier’s Global 8000 has achieved Transport Canada type certification, paving the way for its entry into service this year. American and European FAA and EASA certifications are expected to follow in line with delivery schedules.

The milestone follows a series of major achievements for the Global 8000, including a supersonic test flight, its first production flight in May, and confirmation of a new top speed of Mach 0.95. The aircraft also achieved a new industry benchmark for cabin altitude, reaching just 2,691 ft at 41,000 ft.

“Bombardier has worked rigorously and collaboratively with Transport Canada toward certification for the Global 8000,” says Stephen McCullough, senior vice president, engineering and product development at Bombardier. “This marks a pivotal milestone for Bombardier, our customers and the entire business aviation industry – solidifying the Global 8000’s position as the unrivaled leader setting a new standard.”

The Global 8000 features the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation at 2,691 ft, helping passengers arrive refreshed and alert. Combined with Bombardier’s Pũr Air system with HEPA filtration and VOC removal, and the Soleil circadian lighting system, it promotes comfort and reduces jet lag.

Offering a range of 8,000 nm and a top speed of Mach 0.95, the aircraft enables nonstop travel between more city pairs than ever before. It also offers strong takeoff and landing performance, accessing 30% more airports than comparable aircraft. Inside, it provides four true living spaces, a crew rest area, and the longest seated length in its class.
