GKN Aerospace Norway has signed a strategic agreement with Norwegian Catapult Manufacturing Technology in Kongsberg to expand advanced additive manufacturing at its engines facility in Kongsberg. The move aims to reduce material waste, shorten supply chains and lower environmental impact.

The collaboration is designed to accelerate industrial adoption of additive manufacturing and establish a platform for advanced, sustainable manufacturing in Norway. It follows earlier GKN Aerospace investments in additive manufacturing in Sweden and the USA.

By working with Norwegian Catapult, GKN Aerospace aims to expand capacity, accelerate innovation and bring production closer to its customers, while supporting Norway’s ambition to lead in sustainable industrial development.

The initiative supports GKN Aerospace’s strategy to expand its global additive manufacturing footprint with investment in machinery, infrastructure and proprietary technologies for the production of critical aerospace engine components.
