Tecnam has introduced the P2008JC NG, a next-generation update to its established training platform. The aircraft has been certified under EASA CS-23 and integrates a Rotax 912 iSc fuel-injected engine within a hybrid carbon and metal airframe tailored to ab-initio training.
Certification under CS-23 places the P2008JC NG in the top safety tier for General Aviation. Flight schools gain stronger certification margins, flexible operations and long-term value with significantly lower hourly costs.
The carbon fuselage provides a wider, sleeker cabin that gives students more comfort than legacy trainers, while the metal wings resist damage and allow quick repairs, reducing downtime.
The Rotax engine burns as little as 14 litres per hour and can use automotive fuel, helping operators cut fuel bills. With up to 30 per cent less consumption than older AvGas-powered trainers, the aircraft also reduces CO2 emissions.
The P2008JC NG supports fleet commonality for operators using the P-Mentor or P2006T NG. Sharing the injected Rotax architecture, the aircraft simplifies parts management and streamlines student progression across training levels.
A Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit gives students early exposure to airline-style avionics. Optional autopilot expands IFR-style procedure training in VFR conditions.
“The P2008JC NG represents a significant leap in training safety,” says Giovanni Pascale Langer, Managing Director at Tecnam. “By certifying to the latest CS-23 Amendment 6 standards, we have enhanced the aircraft’s safety characteristics specifically at very low speeds - the typical mission profile for ab-initio training. We needed an aircraft that works hard, consumes little and inspires confidence. This is the only trainer on the market that combines superior safety of CS-23, state-of-the-art avionics and the unbeatable efficiency of modern injection technology.”
Additional updates include a redesigned central console, new window styling and improved seatbelts with inertial reels. The aircraft is available for order now.
