Bombardier commits $100 million to expand in Dorval
Thursday, 22 January 2026
The project, supported by Quebecois industry and government funding, forms part of a long-term strategy to boost productivity and respond to rising business aircraft demand.

Bombardier is developing a 126,000 sq ft manufacturing centre in Dorval as part of a long-term strategy to expand production capacity and support growing demand for its business aircraft.

The facility will be located near the Challenger manufacturing centre and the Laurent Beaudoin Completion Centre and is scheduled to open before the end of 2027. The project represents an investment of approximately $100 million and is expected to create skilled employment opportunities in Quebec.

David Murray, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, IT and Bombardier Operational Excellence System at Bombardier, says: “This major investment demonstrates our commitment to support Bombardier’s growth and build the infrastructure we need to maximize our productivity.”

He adds: “As we expand our manufacturing capacity, we’re positioning ourselves to keep up with global demand and solidify our position at the top of the business aviation industry.”

The project is supported by a $35 million repayable non-forgivable loan from Investissement Québec through its ESSOR program. The funding was confirmed during an event attended by industry and government representatives including Quebec’s Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy Christine Fréchette.

Christine Fréchette says the expansion will generate economic benefits across Quebec’s aerospace supply chain while supporting job creation and strengthening the province’s manufacturing expertise.

Bombardier says the project builds on its wider economic contribution in Quebec and Canada. A PwC study commissioned by the company found that Bombardier contributed $7.4 billion to Canada’s GDP in 2024 and supported nearly 50,000 jobs nationwide with almost 10,000 direct jobs in Quebec alone.
