Saab and Cohere align AI capability with GlobalEye growth plans
Wednesday, 25 March 2026
The agreement ties AI development directly to Saab’s GlobalEye campaign in Canada and its wider international roadmap.

Saab has entered into an MoU with Cohere to collaborate on artificial intelligence technologies supporting its GlobalEye airborne early warning and control platform.

The agreement is tied to the GlobalEye opportunity in Canada while also supporting current and future operators worldwide. Capabilities developed through the collaboration are intended to feed into Saab’s broader product portfolio and reinforce its position in international markets.

The partners will focus on areas including data-driven mission support, maintenance tools and information processing, with emphasis on integrating these capabilities into secure, complex aerospace environments through on-premises solutions. Initial pilot projects have been identified to explore practical applications aligned with programme needs.

Micael Johansson, President and of CEO Saab, says: “Canada offers outstanding industrial and advanced technology partners. Working with Canadian companies like Cohere on emerging technologies strengthens our global supply chain and enhances Saab’s international competitiveness.”

Ivan Zhang, Co-Founder, Cohere, adds: “Frontier artificial intelligence should be built for scale, trust, reliability and most importantly, real-word impact. Through Saab’s deep engineering heritage and our advanced enterprise-grade models, we’ll explore pushing the boundaries of what AI can truly deliver for aerospace, enabling teams to process complex data faster, increase operational tempo, surface key insights with clarity and support critical decision making when it matters most.”

The MOU signals a shared intent to combine aerospace engineering and advanced AI research in support of industrial cooperation in Canada and future programme development.
