Otto Aerospace has partnered with Austria-based interiors specialist F/LIST to develop the cabin for its Phantom 3500 business jet, bringing cabin engineering into the aircraft’s architecture from the earliest stages of development.

The Phantom 3500 is a clean-sheet business jet programme built around laminar-flow aerodynamics and carbon-fibre composite construction. Otto says the aircraft is designed to deliver a 61% reduction in fuel burn compared with current super-midsize jets.

Under the agreement, F/LIST will lead development and production of the aircraft’s furniture and interior linings, working alongside Otto’s engineering teams as the aircraft’s structure and systems continue to take shape.

“Because the Phantom is a clean-sheet aircraft, the interior isn’t constrained by legacy layouts or systems,” says Olivier Capistran, Principal Engineer – Interiors, Furnishings and Equipment at Otto Aerospace. “Working with F/LIST at this stage allows us to incorporate interior design directly into the aircraft architecture, so the cabin experience reflects the same performance and efficiency the platform is built to deliver.”

Rather than following a traditional supplier process after aircraft concepts are finalised, Otto and F/LIST are jointly defining cabin requirements during development. The companies say this approach allows the interior to be integrated more closely with the aircraft’s structure, supporting weight reduction and improved efficiency while creating a more cohesive passenger experience.

F/LIST says its experience in carbon composite construction and premium cabin manufacturing supports Otto’s wider effort to keep the aircraft lightweight and efficient.

The Phantom 3500 will also feature Otto’s internally developed SuperNatural Vision technology, an ultra-wide digital passenger window system designed to provide glare-free panoramic views while reducing weight, noise and energy consumption compared with conventional cabin windows.
