MLS receivers capture the time-referenced scanning beams transmitted by ground-based Microwave Landing System azimuth and elevation stations operating in the 5 031–5 091 MHz C-band, processing DPSK-encoded data words to derive precision approach guidance. Associated hardware encompasses RF front-ends, signal decoders, DME/P ranging channels, and ARINC 429 data-bus interfaces certified to DO-160 environmental and DO-178 software standards.
