Plating baths encompass the electrochemical and chemical deposition tanks, rectifiers, and process chemistries used to apply metallic or composite coatings to aerospace substrates, covering processes such as hard chrome plating, electroless nickel (EN), cadmium plating, zinc–nickel, and brush plating, together with associated pretreatment chemistries and bath-monitoring systems that ensure coating thickness and adhesion meet AMS and MIL-SPEC requirements.
