Honing is a precision abrasive machining process used to refine the bore geometry and surface finish of cylindrical components such as actuator cylinders, hydraulic manifolds, and landing-gear sleeves, achieving tight dimensional tolerances and controlled surface roughness (Ra) through the controlled reciprocating action of bonded abrasive stones or superabrasive CBN and diamond tooling.
