Composite Materials

Composite Materials encompasses structural and functional materials formed by combining two or more constituent phases, including carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP), aramid- and boron-reinforced laminates, ceramic matrix composites (CMC) incorporating Nicalon and Tyranno fibres, metal matrix composites (MMC), and honeycomb or foam-cored sandwich panels, processed via prepreg layup, resin transfer moulding (RTM), autoclave cure, and filament winding using thermoset and thermoplastic matrix systems.
