|China's C919 jetliner goes into commercial operation
On arrival at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport it passed through a water gate and was officially commissioned into the fleet of CEA. It is expected to be put into commercial use in the spring of 2023.
This WFA is fully independently designed, produced and manufactured by LETRI, and has now achieved FAA TSO-C63f airworthiness certification with the support from Collins.
The C919 features an integrated propulsion system, bringing the Nexcelle joint venture-supplied nacelle, thrust reverser and exhaust system together with CFM International's LEAP-1C powerplant.
Seven C919s have been built and flown to date, with test flights at four locations across China. In May, COMAC achieved the first flight of the initial production jetliner which will be delivered to an airline customer.
